Gorgeous Bit of Vintage YouTubery!

Wow! How lovely! I wish I could talk like that narrator...completely incomprehensible but very posh and proper. I'm off to use my electrical devices with giddy abandon and work on clipping my vowels. Ta-ta!

Isn't that funny. I was just this morning thinking about the electric drying cupboard my mum used to have and then I watched you film clip and that lovely lady had one. The narrator reminded me of Ronnie Barker doing a similar voice over on the Two Ronnies. The ad was probably a bit risque for its time, don't you think.

I thought it risque' with the lady pulling on her hose and scrubbing in the bubble bath. Back then? Oh dear! I do love my electricity!

Hi Jenny
The narrator reminded me of Harry Enfield's Mr Chomondeley Warner. Yes, I never thought about it being a bit risque until you mentioned it. I think it was a film meant for trade exhibitions, like The Ideal Home Exhibition in Olympia...I suppose they wanted to attract the fellas to the wonders of electricity as well!

Hi Jody
Isn't it funny about it being a bit on the risque side...I suppose s*x was used to sell stuff even back then! All of the girls in the film were quite glam weren't they?

How wonderful! The world of electricity! :) And here's me many years later trying to use a lot less, what a turn around.

Hi Sarah
I thought that too! Can you imagine how much energy that huge water heater and old-fashioned dishwasher would've used? Wow!
