Lurgy!

I'm sorry I've been away from the world of blog for such a long time, but my youngest has had the weirdest lurgy. She was sent home from school on Thursday and is only just better today. She's still home with me, but feeling much better and playing happily and eating for England, so I assume she'll be back at school tomorrow. I hope to be back in full blogging mode for Friday, IF (and it's a very big IF) I get my Christmas prep all sorted...I'm hoping for a peaceful and reflective advent this year (we live in hope). Anyway, I wish all of you Americans out there a happy Thanksgiving and I'll leave you with a link to a little quiz which just goes to prove that there are not too many differences between the beliefs of God's children as we often think. Here's the link and the results of the quiz which analyzes and quantifies your spiritual beliefs. Oh, and for the record, I'm a pretty MOR broad Anglican...it is interesting to note that the percentage difference between liberal protestant belief and conservative protestant belief is just 6%, somebody should inform the Anglican Communion!

1. Orthodox Quaker (100%)
2. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (90%)
3. Eastern Orthodox (87%)
4. Roman Catholic (87%)
5. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (84%)
6. Seventh Day Adventist (83%)
7. Liberal Quakers (73%)
8. Orthodox Judaism (63%)
9. Unitarian Universalism (59%)
10. Islam (56%)

I'm glad your little one is feeling much better. Hopefully it will not be too hard to catch up on missed school work.

Tee hee, funny quiz. I'm 100% Reform Judaism, 90% Liberal Quaker. Suspecting a lack of Synagogues in our part of Fife, I think I'll stick with the Quakers!

Hope the lurgy improves.

Hi Marie
She'll be going back tomorrow for definite. My deep suspicion is that she may have only missed rehearsals for the school nativity...for 'tis that time of year! Being blonde and curly haired, she's (you guessed it) an angel.

Hi Zillah
So Quakers don't do Christmas, but Jews sure do Hanukkah...you better get your ass in gear girl!

Yikes, you're right! I hadn't thought of that. Better look out Claudia Roden's Jewish Food and brush up on my Hanukka treats.

HI Zillah

Can highly recommend "Kitchen Blues" by the, oh so very lovely, Rabbi Lionel Blue...just like Claudia Roden, but more cuddly...

Oh dear - I thought I was a dyed-in-the-wool-Baptist and it turns out I am 100% Quaker [husband says quiz must be wrong- they are usually quiet people, meditating in stillness!!!]
However if I DID belong to that noble band, I would like to be involved with their Tapestry http://www.quaker-tapestry.co.uk/index.htm
It is utterly fabulous!
blessings, ang x

Hi Angela
I'm so amused that all of us came out Quaker except Zillah (the only Friend here!). Thanks so much for the tapestry link. It's incredibly beautiful and very inspiring!
