My copy of The Pace of a Hen, by Josephine Moffett Benton, arrived this afternoon, so I settled down with a cup of tea and read the first few pages. It's glorious stuff, and speaks directly and honestly about a woman's life and a woman's work. Here is an extract for your reading pleasure.
A woman at last discovers that love is the golden thread running through the pattern, binding all her seemingly disparate activities together. If she willingly accepts the slow pace and the seeming scatterdness of her years, her life will be blessed and give blessing.
