More Musings on the Nebulous

My copy of The Pace of a Hen, by Josephine Moffett Benton, arrived this afternoon, so I settled down with a cup of tea and read the first few pages. It's glorious stuff, and speaks directly and honestly about a woman's life and a woman's work. Here is an extract for your reading pleasure.

A woman at last discovers that love is the golden thread running through the pattern, binding all her seemingly disparate activities together. If she willingly accepts the slow pace and the seeming scatterdness of her years, her life will be blessed and give blessing.

Hi Jenny
Mine had to come from some strange press in the USA. It was worth the wait, I'm nearly finished, it is wonderful. I KNOW YOU'LL LOVE IT.

Hi Sarah
This book is right up your alley, if you can get hold of it cheaply, buy it, it's wonderful. Like sitting in the room whilst an older, wiser woman gives good advice!

Such a treat to hear Tim B. when I stopped by. How I loved him (and his son). Your book sounds wonderful. Have you ever read My Dear Aunt Flora by Eliz. Cadell? Fiction -and just lovely about family, home, etc. One of my favorite books.

Hi Tina
I can highly recommend the book, I may review it on the old blogola over the next week.

Hi Nan
You're my kind of gel! Vashti Bunyan and the Buckley boys, you have a fine taste in music (well I would say that wouldn't I?). I'll try the book you recommended, I'm always up for a good read.

What a fine quote that is. I've heard about "A Hen's Pace" but never read it. I'll have to find a copy.

I hope you'll keep sharing it.

Hi Jody
If I have time I think I'll review the book tomorrow. It's worth getting a copy if you can find one.
