A Happy Birthday Give-Away!

Tomorrow, gentle reader, is my 36th birthday. More importantly however it is also the 1st birthday of Bread and Roses. Yes, I have managed to keep a blog for an entire calender year, this is nothing short of a minor miracle. To celebrate I'm doing a bit of a give-away. If you fancy a copy of Hidden Art by Edith Shaeffer, a women's mag from the turn of the last century and a few knitted dishcloths, please leave a comment and I'll get one of the kiddos to do a prize draw on Thursday 5th February!
I also want to thank you all (yes, all twenty-five of you) for reading over the past year, you all make blogging fun.

Happy birthday, Dulce! Hope this is a great year for you and your blog, which I love--it was such a thrill when I found it last year; at last, I thought, someone who loves the old ways of housewifery as much as I do (not that I practice them; mostly I just love reading about them)! Plus, you make me laugh.

Don't include me in the giveaway--it costs way too much to mail stuff overseas.

Is this one of the milestone birthdays? If so commiserations if it is worrying to you! But don't fret....getting older is something to be prized if you also grow in wisdom as you seem to be doing.

I'd love to be included in your draw....but would understand if you declined to put my name in the hat as I am in the UK and I know how prohibitive postage is.

Thanks for your blog which I do enjoy reading....

Happy Birthday - I love your blog! Please keep it going, it is such a joy to read.
Lots of love and blessings on your special day - hope your nearest and dearest make a suitably big fuss of you, snow notwithstanding!

Happy b-day and congratulations on your one year blogging anniversary.

Hidden Art is a lovely book - but oh it would cost a fortune to mail it here. So just accept my best wishes for a wonderfully Happy Birthday celebration!

PS - I'm really enjoying your household chores for the months.

Happy Birthday, DD. And Happy Birthday Bread and Roses. I so much enjoy my 'visit' to you when the little ones are in bed. It's a blessing to find a kindred spirit!

Very, very interesting that you began writing on your 35th birthday. If I go back to the beginning of your blog would there be philosophical musings about this?:<)
My late uncle, who was a great philosopher and poem quoter was born on the 5th. Hmmm.
Finding your blog has been wonderful for me. I so enjoy your thoughts, and I've learned a lot about the domestic past (my favorite thing). I agree that they are probably multitudes who read and never comment.

It's me again. On another note, I'm wondering if you have a good, simple sponge cake recipe? One that is in cups rather than weights? I can't seem to find one anywhere that looks good. If you have one you could share I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

Happy Birthday! And long may you, and you blog, live!

I suppose I am too late for the draw - but I will be comforted if you could manage to give me some information about the knitted dishcloths you mention! They sound so exciting, but I'm not quite sure where to begin with making my own ;)

Best wishes and blessings for the coming year :)
